Kongu Express

Kongu express (Tamil: கொங்கு எக்ஸ்பிரஸ்) (Train Nos 2647/2648) is a superfast weekly train run by Indian Railways between Coimbatore Junction and H.Nizamuddin. The train was named after Kongu Nadu because it connects the cities like Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Erode - which are traditionally known as Kongu region - with NCR Delhi. After Kongu region, this train passes through Bangalore, Secunderabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Agra, with a total of 27 intermediate stations. The train starts on Wednesdays from Nizamuddin, and on Sundays from Coimbatore, covering the total distance of 2716 km. in approximately 47 hours [1] [2].
